Science Teachers Forum

nullThe Science Teachers' Forum is an open forum aimed at senior grade educators of science, technology, biology, geography and mathematics. The educators meet to share their ideas and discuss issues and difficulties encountered in the classroom. Selected purveyors of school-related science educational aids are also invited to demonstrate their latest equipment available in the market.

All grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 science, technology, life science, geography and maths educators are invited to attend. This open forum aims to enhance science teaching in a most applicable and practical way.

During a typical session you can expect:

  • tips and tricks to liven up your lab demos
  • guest speakers
  • information on managing your school laboratory
  • information on managing your learners' portfolios
  • demonstrations by participating teachers
  • hands-on experiments to improve your skills and understanding of troublesome experiments
  • open discussions on everyday problems encountered in the science class
  • sharing of experiences and feedback from attending science educators
  • spectacular science demos by SAASTA's masters of the art
  • computer literacy classes to enhance your classroom activities
  • links with tertiary institutions
  • information on the importance of creating SET career awareness among your learners, and many more.

altThe sessions cover a variety of topics, but each will be different. Educators may attend as many sessions as they are able to.

Selected purveyors of science educational aides are also invited to demonstrate the latest equipment available in the market.
